Town of Bainbridge, New York
Bainbridge is a town in Chenango County, New York. It is located approximately thirty miles northeast of Binghamton. The area is considered part of the Southern Tier region. The Susquehanna River, the major river of the eastern United States, runs through the town. The town is named in honor of William Bainbridge, a Commodore in the United States Navy. Within the town, is a village also named Bainbridge. The village is in the center of the town and the main population area of the town., the town population was estimated at 2,900.
