Most tickets in Belfast originate on New York State Route 19 (NYS-19). New York State Route 19 follows the Genese River heading north and south. The road enters Belfast from the north and leaves through the east. It is the town’s arterial road. The speed limit is 55 mph, but is reduced to 45 mph as it enters downtown Belfast.
New York State Route 305 and County Route 17 serve the remaining middle and west town area. NYS-305 runs east west and CR-17 runs diagonally heading towards the south.
