As NYS-13 enters the village from the north, its name changes from Gorge Road to Sweetland Street, and then quickly changes again to Farnham Street. When Route 13 reaches the center of the village, it turns west and joins the US-20 (Albany Street). They both turn southward at Forman Street and split shortly thereafter. US-20 continues westward, and NYS-13 continues in a southwest direction towards the small city of Cortland.
