Cherry Valley is the name of a town and village in Otsego County, New York. The village is within the town. In the 18th century, wild cherries grew in the area, thus giving reason for the town and village name. Cherry Valley is roughly sixty miles west of the City of Albany. , the town and village combined had an estimated population of 1,200. From the south-east comes CR-50, which first passes through Center Valley. These roads are where most of the town’s traffic violations originate.
