Dobbs Ferry is a village in Westchester County, New York. It is located on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, approximately twenty-five miles north of Midtown Manhattan. It is within the town of Greenburgh., the population was estimated at 12,000. Dobbs Ferry was incorporated in 1873 as Greenburgh, however the name was changed later on in 1882. The village is named after Jeremiah Dobbs, owner of a ferry service that crossed the Hudson River.
