East Rochester is a village in Monroe County, New York. It is located eight and a half miles southeast of the City of Rochester. The village population as of May of 2022 was 6,445. East Rochester makes up one and a third square miles. The village was incorporated in 1897 with the name “Despatch”. In 1906 it was once again incorporated under its newer, current name. Streets running east-west are named after flowers, Streets running north-south are named after past Presidents.
