Traffic Tickets in Freetown, New York
Tickets in Freetown are issued by the New York State Police and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department. The authorities issue tickets answerable to Freetown’s Town Court. The court typically adjudicates low level violations such as speeding, following another vehicle too closely, and disobeying a traffic control device. Heading south, it leads motorists to Marathon and I-81. The east part of town is served by County Route 161 (East Freetown Road). CR 161 runs north-south. These two primary roads are connected by the east-west bound County Route 160 (Freetown Xing). In the north-east corner of town, New York State Route 41 falls under the town’s jurisdiction very briefly. It runs past East Freetown and connects to CR-161.
