Traffic Tickets in Maryland

Interstate 88 (I-88) runs between the cities of Albany and Binghamton. The I-88 is a relatively new interstate highway, having been completed in 1989. It is officially named the “Senator Warren M. Anderson Expressway” after a local state senator who lobbied for its creation. For the most part, the highway is two lanes in each direction, divided by a grassy median. The speed limit, in general, is 65 mph. Motorists tend to drive faster than the speed limit because this highway is mostly straight and rarely has traffic. The I-88 is patrolled by Troop C of the New York State Police. They frequently conduct traffic stops of motorists driving substantially above the speed limit. A large portion of the I-88 runs through the jurisdiction of the town of Maryland. All traffic violations on this stretch of highway are adjudicated in the Town of Maryland Justice Court (Maryland Town Court).
