Port Jervis is a city in Orange County, New York. It is located approximately ninety miles northwest of Manhattan. The city is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the only such location in New York State. The northeast corner of Pennsylvania and the northwest corner of New Jersey meet just south of Port Jervis. The area was established by Dutch and English colonists back in 1690. Originally it was known as Mahackamack.
