Sanford is a large and rural town in Broome County, New York. It is located on the New York- Pennsylvania state line, around thirty miles west of Binghamton. The town is considered part of the Southern Tier region. Sanford has a total area of 91 square miles., the estimated town population was 2,100. Sanford encompasses several small hamlets. They are Danville, Golf Summit, Howes, McClure, North Sanford, Sanford, and Vallonia Springs. There is also the Village of Deposit, which is partially in Stanford and partially in the Town of Deposit.
