Stockport is a town in Columbia County, New York. The Hudson River serves as the western town line. Stockport is approximately twenty-seven miles south of the state capital, Albany. Stockport was settled around 1657 and formed in 1833 from parts of several other towns in the county. The town encompasses four hamlets known as Columbiaville, Rossman, Stockport, and Stottville.
