Andover, New York
Andover is a town in Allegany County, New York. It is part of the Southern Tier region. The town is around 100 miles southeast of Buffalo and around 120 miles west of Binghamton. As of March of 2022, Andover’s population was 1,955.
Andover was first settled around 1795 and formally established as a township in 1824. The town used to be smaller, however in 1855 it acquired more land from a neighboring town. Currently, Andover covers roughly forty square miles. There is one hamlet in Andover, named Elm Valley (formerly Shoemakers Corners). Additionally, the town encompasses one village, also named Andover.

County Route 22 is the town’s largest south town road. It runs north-south and connects to NYS-417 in the village outskirts. The remaining town area is served by smaller local roads that direct motorists to NYS-417.
