Traffic Tickets in Cincinnatus, New York

The Cincinnatus Town Court adjudicates any traffic ticket issued in town. Traffic citations are written by the New York State Police or Cortland County Sheriff’s Department. Typical charges include speeding, texting while driving, and failing to obey a traffic control device, such as a stop sign. Speeding charges are often issued on the larger roads such as New York State Route 26.

A particular speed trap can be found on County Route 1668. On this road there is a school zone sandwiched between a 55 mile per hour speed limit. As motorists approach the school zone they are expected to reduce their speed from 55 to 20 miles per hour. This catches motorists off guard quite often. Out of town drivers should proceed with caution along this road.
