Cohocton is the name of a town in Steuben County, New York. It is located in the Finger Lakes region, approximately fifty miles south of the city of Rochester. Within the town is the village of Cohocton. The town includes the hamlets of Kirkwood, North Cohocton, and Atlanta. The latter was originally called Bloods but renamed to the more pleasant sounding “Atlanta”. The main population area is in the village. The town court and other town offices are located in Atlanta., the estimated total population was 2,200.
