Dickinson is a town in Broome County, New York. The town is considered a suburb of the city of Binghamton. The town is rather small, making up just five square miles. Dickinson was established in 1890 and named after Daniel S. Dickinson, an American Senator from 1844 to 1851., Dickinson was home to an estimated 5,000 residents. The town consists of one village named Port Dickinson. The town is also home to a two-year public college, SUNY Broome Community College.
