Fulton is a city in Oswego County, New York. It is located approximately twenty-five miles northwest of Syracuse and around fifteen miles southeast of the Lake Ontario shore. The city is considered part of the Central New York region., Fulton’s estimated population was at 11,500. The city covers roughly five square miles and is split into two communities by the Oswego River. Fulton was originally incorporated as a village in 1835. Later in 1902, it obtained its city status. Fulton was named after Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat.
