Fulton is a rural town located in Schoharie County, New York. It is considered part of the Mohawk Valley region and is approximately fifty miles west of the city of Albany. As of March of 2022, the town’s population was 1,685. The town covers exactly sixty-five square miles. Fulton was initially settled in 1715, and formally established in 1828. The town consists of several hamlets. They are: Breakabeen, Fultonham, Patria, Watsonville and West Fulton.

The more rural area of town to the west is served by county routes and smaller local roads.
