Hamden is a town in Delaware County, New York. It is a rural town located in the scenic and historic Catskill Mountains., the town population was estimated at 1,200. Hamden was formed in 1825 and originally named the “Hampden”. Historians are not sure why the letter p was dropped from its name. The town covers approximately sixty square miles.
