Maine is the name of a town in Broome County, New York. It is located fifteen miles northwest of the City of Binghamton and is considered part of the Southern Tier region., the town population was estimated at 5,100. Historians are not certain on the basis of the name of the state or the town. The assumption is that it is named after the province in France named Maine.
