Martinsburg is a town in Lewis County, New York. It is on the western side of the Adirondack Mountains, approximately 40 miles north of the City of Rome and approximately 30 miles southeast of the City of Watertown., the town’s population was estimated at 1,500. Martinsburg covers approximately seventy six square miles. The town was established in 1803 and named after its founder, General Walter Martin. There are several hamlets found in Martinsburg.
