Nelsonville is a small village in Putnam County, New York. It is inside the Town of Philipstown Nelsonville sits a few miles off the eastern bank of the Hudson River. As of May of 2022, the village population was 612. Nelsonville covers one square mile and is just east of the Village of Cold Spring. Nelsonville was incorporated in 1855 and named after the Nelson family, who were early settlers.
