Orangetown is a town in Rockland County, New York. It sits on the western bank of the Hudson River, just north of the New Jersey state line. Orangetown is the most southern town in New York on the western side of the Hudson River. The town is located around twenty-five miles northwest of New York City. Orangetown encompasses the villages of Grand View-on Hudson, Nyack, and Piermont. In March of 2022, the village of South Nyack dissolved and it is now considered a hamlet of Orangetown. Each village court has jurisdiction over traffic violations charged within the boundaries of its village. The town court has jurisdiction over the rest of the town that is not included in any of the three villages. The Orangetown Town Court (Orangetown Justice Court) is located within a large government complex in the Hamlet of Orangeburg.
