Piermont is a village in Rockland County, New York. It is within the town of Orangetown. As of April of 2022, the village population was 2,615. Piermont sits on the western bank of the Hudson River. It is a suburb of New York City, located approximately twenty five miles north of Times Square. Piermont was incorporated in 1859 under the name “Tappan Landing.” The village is home to what seems to be the only hand cranked drawbridge in the United States, the Sparkill Creek Drawbridge. It was built in 1880.
