Saugerties is a town in Ulster County, New York. It is located on the western bank of the Hudson River, approximately fifty miles south of the City of Albany. Within the town is a Village of Saugerties. The town is the largest, by population, in Ulster County., the estimated population was 19,000. The area was settled extensively back in the 17th and 18th century. There are a number of historic structures that remain from that time.
