Union Vale, New York
Union Vale is the name of a town in Dutchess County, New York. The town is approximately fifteen miles east of Poughkeepsie and around seventy miles north of New York City. It is considered part of the Hudson Valley region., its population was approximately 4,844. Several hamlets make up the town. They are Clove, LaGrangeville, Verbank and Verbank Village. The latter has “village” in its name but it is nonetheless a hamlet. The hamlet of LaGrangeville is shared with the towns of LaGrange and Beekman. Lagrangeville is also the location of the Union Vale Town Court. The town is most well known for being home to Tymor Park, which is the largest municipal park in the state, encompassing about 500 acres.

The first would be New York State Route 82, which passes through Verbank Village in the northwest corner. The second would be New York State Route 55 in the southwest corner. The town’s arterial road is County Route 9 (Clove Road). It runs north-south through the middle of Union Vale, then trails north-west as it approaches the northern boundary of town. It intersects with County Route 21 (Bruzgul Road / Wingdale Road) in the south part of town. CR-21 is an east-west bound road that follows the south boundary. Heading west on CR-21 will bring you to Lagrangeville. Heading east will bring you to Wingdale, a hamlet in Dover.
Union Vale does not have its own police department. Their roads are monitored by the New York State Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department.
