Walton is a town in Delaware County, New York. It is located on the western side of the Catskill Mountains. The closest city is Binghamton, approximately fifty miles further west. Within the town is a village of Walton. It is the main commercial and population area of the town. The town also encompasses the hamlets of Beerston, Loomis, Northfield, and Pinesville. , the combined population was estimated at 5,100.

The two main town roads are New York State Route 206 and New York State Route 10. The NYS-206 crosses the town in a southeast-northwest direction. On the eastern side, Route 206 starts in Downsville and continues westward before terminating near the town of Barker in Broome County. The NYS-10 crosses the town in a southwest-northeast direction. Route 10 brings motorists between the town of Deposit in the south and then continues northward for many miles before terminating in the Adirondacks.
