Woodstock, New York
Woodstock is a town in Ulster County, New York. It is in the Catskill Mountains, approximately 100 miles north of New York City., the town population was estimated at 6,000. NYS-212 passes east-west through Woodstock and cuts through several hamlets in the northern town area. NY-212 runs through Willow, Lake Hill and Bearsville as it trails the northern edge of Cooper Lake. It meets the town’s largest south town road, County Route 45 (Wittenberg Road) in the principal hamlet, Woodstock. CR-45 runs east and west. A number of traffic stops occur on West Harley Road (NY-375) as well. Going north into the main area of the town, the speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. Motorists not paying attention to the signs, and continuing at the same pace, will likely be stopped for speeding. The vast majority of traffic tickets are issued in the summer months to out-of-the-area motorists.
