Richfield Springs is a village in Otsego County, New York. It is located approximately twenty-five miles southeast of Utica and approximately seventy miles west of Albany. The area is considered part of the Central New York region and the Mohawk Valley region. The village is within the town of Richfield and is its main population area. The size of Richfield Spring is one square mile., the village had an estimated 1,000 residents.

Running east-west through the village is US-20. In the village it is named East Main Street and West Main Street. The US-20 crosses through a large portion of upstate New York. State Route 167 comes from the north via the Town of Warren and is named Church Street as it enters the village. Many speeding tickets are issued on these roads as they enter the village. The speed limit drops to 30 mph at the village entrance and many motorists do not notice.
